Yesterday I was surprised to find myself becoming part of an Art Installation. While browsing in Dulverton I discovered Christopher Jelley’s exhibition as part of Somerset Art Weeks Festival. I was invited to choose a card from a pack of images and phrases and blindly chose one depicting dreams and stories. This resonated strongly with me; in my work as a counsellor I often work with clients dreams and also pay close attention to my own. I remember overhearing one young man telling his friend: “She’s listening to my story”. We all need to be listened to and to be heard.
Christopher has many fascinating projects involving local people and places – literally involving them and artistically involving them/us.
